The moment I stopped waiting for someone else to treat me the way I wanted to be treated and started treating myself that way, everything began to shift.

I speak to myself the way I would speak to a lover. I say good morning to myself the way I would a partner. I say good night to myself with tenderness. When I look in the mirror, I speak to myself the way I would speak to someone I am deeply in love with.

That shift in perspective changed everything.

It has radically healed my relationship with myself.

This is reparenting. This is nervous system regulation. This is rewiring old stories and old beliefs.

And when that old voice creeps in, the one that says you’re not good enough, you’re unworthy, you’re ugly, you’re overweight, you’re a bad mom, whatever it may be, I pause and ask myself:

Would I speak to a lover this way?
Would I speak to my child this way?

That awareness alone has changed so much in my healing.

We do not need someone else to fulfill us. That is not the goal. People, places, and things can absolutely add to our lives, but the deepest certainty we need is trust in ourselves. Love for ourselves. Safety within ourselves.

And when you have that, everything around you begins to shift too.

When you speak to yourself with love consistently, when you show up for yourself with devotion consistently, people begin to mirror that energy back to you. You start finding yourself in spaces where people speak to you differently. You begin stepping into circles, relationships, and opportunities that reflect the way you now see yourself.

And the opposite is true too.

Look at the way you speak about yourself. Look at the situations you keep finding yourself in. Look at how the people around you are treating you.

Because when you stop waiting for someone to save you, and instead do the work to realize that you get to be the one who saves yourself, everything shifts.

I stopped fighting the chaos in my life… and started surrendering to it.

For years I was so frustrated with the chaos of my life. Three young kids. Single mom. Dogs. A cat. Bills. Muddy floors. Food everywhere. Endless dishes. A relentless amount of chores that never stopped.

Kids not sleeping. Kids oversleeping. Sports schedules. Plans constantly changing.

It felt like I could never breathe.

My whole life felt chaotic, and I spent so much time trying to fix it. Trying to control it. Trying to make everything calm.

I remember someone once saying to me,
“Carrie, you can’t fix the chaos. You have to learn to move with it. You have to surrender to it.”

And I remember thinking… what do you mean surrender? I can’t just accept that this is the way it is.

But the truth was, the more I fought it, the worse everything felt.

It was like trying to swim upstream in a raging river.

The moment I stopped forcing everything and started allowing myself to move with the current… something shifted.

The mess didn’t feel so overwhelming.

The noise and chaos started to feel more like music than disorder.

Being neurodivergent, I can get overstimulated quickly. And being the only parent to three young kids can push that to the edge.

But the more I allowed things to move through me instead of resisting them… the easier everything became.

For so long I tried to force joy.
Force love.
Force happiness.
Force peace.
Force safety.

Ironically… those things started showing up the moment I stopped trying to control everything.

Every time I tried to “fix” my life, it felt like putting a Band-Aid on a broken pipe spraying water everywhere.

It didn’t solve anything.

But when I finally surrendered and allowed life to move through me… everything began shifting in ways I didn’t even know were possible.

That’s why I created the RADICAL Method.

A framework to help you move through life safely in your nervous system, expand your capacity to hold what life brings, and allow chaos to move through you instead of breaking you.

During my divorce I became a shell of a human.

Then I found myself in another unhealthy situation where I was made to believe that I was too attached to my kids. That loving them the way I did was somehow unhealthy. That I was codependent with them.

So I pulled away even more.

And that broke me.

My kids used to comment on how sad I was.
There were times I couldn’t even handle them touching me.

I remember sobbing to my therapist asking, “What is wrong with me?”

I prayed. I begged. I asked the universe to bring me back to life.

I kept waiting for someone to come shake me awake.

And then I realized…

That person was me.

So I decided to heal.
For myself. For my kids. For the life I knew we deserved.

Now my kids and I have the strongest relationship we’ve ever had.

There’s no yelling in my house.

There is laughter.
Dancing in the kitchen.

So much joy.

3. Place the cinnamon in your left hand, set the intention of calling abundance into your life, and blow the cinnamon into your house.

And I know that everything will be OK that I am deeply supported by spirit and I’m surrounded by the love of my children and my family and my friends in the universe
