During my divorce I became a shell of a human.

I was just moving through the motions. Surviving.
Getting through each day on autopilot.

My kids didn’t really have their mom.
I was there… but I wasn’t fully alive.

Then I found myself in another unhealthy situation where I was made to believe that I was too attached to my kids. That loving them the way I did was somehow unhealthy. That I was codependent with them.

So I pulled away even more.

And that broke me.

My kids used to comment on how sad I was.
There were times I couldn’t even handle them touching me.

I remember sobbing to my therapist asking, “What is wrong with me?”

I prayed. I begged. I asked the universe to bring me back to life.

I kept waiting for someone to come shake me awake.

And then I realized…

That person was me.

So I decided to heal.
For myself. For my kids. For the life I knew we deserved.

Now my kids and I have the strongest relationship we’ve ever had.

There’s no yelling in my house.

There is laughter.
Dancing in the kitchen.
Walks. Games. Snuggles.
So much joy.

And honestly… I am beyond blessed.

Perform this money ritual on the first of the month to invite a month full of abundance. You’ll need two things: ground cinnamon (or any type of cinnamon) and some beautiful salt, such as pink Himalayan salt.

1. Go to the door you use most frequently in your household.

It’s 2 AM.

I wake up shivering. Shaking. Freezing.
The fever is the highest it’s been.

My body hurts. I’m wide awake. And it all comes crashing down.

Yesterday my partner and I ended our relationship.
Not from anger.
But from the truth that we both have to honor ourselves.

And it broke me.

It triggered my deepest wound —
that when I ask for what I need
I am too much.
My energy is too much.
My emotions are too much.

So I’m sitting there at 2 AM, crying, shaking, in pain.
Replaying everything from this past week.

Support shifting.
Financial pressure.
Vacation ending too soon.
All of us getting sick.
The rug ripped out from under me.

And on the day I’m the sickest…
the relationship ends.

I’m sobbing. Feverish.
And then I hear it.

This is how we burn it away.

The old version of you has to die.

Every place where you abandoned yourself.
Every place where you settled.
Every person, place, or thing that made you feel small.

We can’t carry that forward.

I know it hurts, my child.
I know you’re scared.
But we’ve done this before.

We’ve ripped it all away and started over.
And every time it’s been better than the last.

What is truly yours cannot be taken.

It doesn’t make it easier.
A week ago my life looked completely different.

But I know this:
Something magical is on the other side of this.

To step into a new identity, we have to be willing to die first.
We have to enter the void.

I will always stand up for what I need.
Because I am not too much.

I will always stand up for my children.
They are my everything.

And even though at 2 AM, shaking and trying to burn off a fever,
it feels like I’m dying…

In a way, I am.

And that’s how we rise.

It’s 2 AM.
